An exceptional opportunity has arisen at Possability People for a self motivated and experienced Community and Volunteer Link Specialist to join the team of our Right Track service. The role will support the Programme Manager to develop this unique and exciting service in Sussex. You will work with people with or at risk of developing musculoskeletal conditions (for example, arthritis, back and neck pain, foot and ankle injuries) and their carers to be more physically active in the community. A person centred approach underpins all the service’s activities.

We work with older people, disabled people and people with long term health conditions.

Skills / Qualifications required & any further information

Client-facing

·         A creative and solution-focused approach to supporting people with care and social support needs
·         Experience of supporting vulnerable people in case management
·         Proven ability to provide and assimilate information to people with diverse support needs
·         Experience of carrying out home visits and promoting best practice for lone working
·         Volunteer management
·         Experience of working with and supervising volunteers

Stakeholder engagement

·         Knowledge and experience of the Community and Voluntary Sector and other sectors
·         Experience of partnership working
·         Ability to promote project aims and objectives with health professionals, the CVS and other key stakeholders

Learning and development

·         Ability to gather, analyse and present local intelligence (from service users and online research) to partners and stakeholders
·         Experience of reflective practice and involvement in learning and service development processes
·         Proven experience of evaluative practice and ability to produce appropriate monitoring information as required

Communication skills

·         Highly developed interpersonal skills
·         Effective oral and written communication skills including presentations and case recording, communicating in clear and accessible language and formats

General

·         Ability to plan and prioritise workload
·         High competency in administrative ability and IT skills
·         Flexibility and adaptability
·         Knowledge and understanding of the Equality Act (2010) and practice, and a commitment to implementation
·         Possession of full driving licence/ability to travel
·         Experience or understanding of qualitative research and action research methodology
·         Knowledge of social prescribing models and practice
·         Ability to promote and market new initiatives within clinical settings
